    F212 small jumbo

    Used - 1965

1965 Guild F212 small jumbo (not an XL)It has undergone a tremendous overhaul in order to be a fine playing 12-string for the next 30 years or more. The following work was done By Brian Michael and Frank Ford of Gryphon Stringed Instruments earlier this year:Neck re-set - Radius and re-fret fingerboardNew bridge, made in the exact replica of the originalcompensated 12-string saddleRe-glued top cracks and re-aligned the one at top of pick guardThe cost of this repair was in excess of $2,000 but it now plays easier than a 6-string guitarAs the result of my worsening arthritis, I cannot play anything other than an electric with slinky strings. The sound of this guitar is rich and robust, and altogether astoundingSorry for no vids because I don't have an adequate recording set upSpec:Mahogany back and sides - spruce topWidth at nut: 2"Width at the 12th fret: 2 3/8"Scale length: 25 1/4"Overall length: 43 3/4"Upper bout: 11 1/2"Lower bout: 15 11/16"Depth at lower bout: 4 7/8"Currently set up with light gauge strings in Open D tuning, but it will easily accept a medium string in standard tuning.A hard copy of the work done at Gryphon Stringed Instruments will accompany the sale of the guitar, and interested parties may contact him for more information.
